Suzanne Posner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Deschutes Memorial Chapel on Dec. 13, 2025.
Sue Posner, 58, passed away December 2,2025 at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon.
Services will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2450 NE 27th St., Bend, on Friday, December 19th, with viewing 8:30 - 9:30, Rosary at 9:30, Funeral Mass at 10:00 (livestreamed at www.stfrancisbend.org). Interment will immediately follow at Deschutes Memorial Gardens, 63875 N. Hwy 97. Reception afterwards at church.
Sue was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Ray and Betty Posner, where her dad was working for the summer. When she was two weeks old her family returned to Ohio where they lived until moving to Bishop, CA, in 1969. Sue received most of her education there. She enjoyed many camping trips in the Sierra Nevada Mountains with her parents and three brothers. In 1986 her family moved to Bend, where she continued to greatly enjoy camping trips, now in the Cascades. She finished her education in 1988 at Bend High School and went to work at the Opportunity Foundation of Central Oregon until January 2020. She also worked at Blockbuster from 2018 to January 2020. Currently she was enjoying volunteering at the Family Kitchen, participating in Parks and Rec activities, and going out with her longtime support, Tracy Laubach of the Central Oregon Collective. She was very well supported by High Desert Full Access. She loved her parish family at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Ray Posner. Sue, beloved daughter, sister and aunt is survived by her mother, Betty Posner, and her brothers, Brian of Bend, Eric of Crowley Lake, California and Charles (Diane) and nephews, Luke and Owen, of Long Beach, California, an uncle, Richard Barnum of Milwaukee/Phoenix and numerous cousins and friends.
If wishing to honor her memory, contributions may be made to bendparksandrecfoundation, Recreation Scholarship Fund, Opdycke Fund or Central Oregon Collective, inthecollective.com In Home Support Program to support the programs she enjoyed so much.
