A beloved and special lady, Suzette "Suzy" Stamey Pless, entered into her heavenly home in paradise on July 9, 2025. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend who has blessed everyone with her loving and caring heart all throughout the 61 years of her wonderful life.
Suzette was born on March 6, 1964, to the late Mannon Stamey and the late Jean King Stamey. With a heart as generous as it was gentle, Suzy devoted her life to bringing happiness to others through kind words, her warm and beautiful smile, or simply being there with unwavering love. She brought joy wherever she went, and she cared for those around her with selflessness and a giving spirit that was an example for each of us to follow.
Suzette dedicated 28 years of loyal service to Lowe's in Candler, where she worked diligently in sales and also as a credit coordinator. Her work ethic was matched only by her ability to brighten the day of every customer she encountered.
Outside of work, she found her greatest joy in life's simple pleasures- spending time with her loving family, caring for her pets, and tending her garden. Suzette had a natural talent for arranging the most beautiful floral arrangements and creating picture collages filled with memories. She also had an eye for finding special treasures at thrift stores and yard sales. Everywhere Suzette went, she was loved- a friend to everyone.
Though Suzette has left us, we shall hold her precious memory in our hearts forever. We have great peace knowing that on this day, she is now in God's care.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Mary Woods.
Surviving are her devoted husband and the love of her life, Darren Pless who has faithfully been by Suzette's side- always; her sons, Steven Sorrells and wife Sammie and Justin Mintz and fiancee' Amanda; grandchildren, Carter, James, Madeleine, and Orion; a sister, Sherry Street and husband JR; her brother, Jamie Stamey and wife Sue; her father-in-law and mother-in- law, William and Christine Pless; brother-in-law, Shaun Pless and wife Jennifer; nephews, Zach, Christian, Casey, Isaac, and Andrew; and special friends, Johnna Carpenter, Marlene Capps and Donna Williams.
There are not enough words to express the love and great gratitude we feel for all of you who helped in caring for our beloved Suzette. You have each been a blessing.
A Service of Remembrance to celebrate Suzette's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Reverend Karen Kurtz will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is deeply honored to be caring for the Pless family.
