Suzy Coryer,73, of Cumming passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at
Northside Hospital Forsyth.
Suzy was born August 4, 1950 in upstate New York. A homemaker and mother of three, Suzy
was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She moved to Georgia more than 20
years to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Suzy loved to cook, exercise, watch
movies, read magazines, and play games with her grandchildren.
A close second to her love of family, was her love of her rescue dogs Charles and Charlie. She
was known to take the dogs to the fast food drive-through for chicken nuggets or cook them
special meals. But Suzy had room in her heart for any stray dog or cat in the neighborhood
that needed love. Even as she entered the hospital, she was feeding half a dozen stray cats on
her back porch every day.
Suzy believed in angels. She surrounded herself with angel figurines and pictures. If she has
anything to do with it, she is watching over her beloved family right now, just like an angel.
Suzy is survived by her children, Kelly (Lewis) Anthony of Woodstock, Eric (Heather) of
Gainesville, Bill (Kris) Coryer of Springfield, GA; grandchildren Layla Coryer, Michael Coryer,
Nathan Coryer, Joshua Spencer, Lewis Anthony III; sister, Joanne (Phil) Broderick of Plattsburgh,
NY and of course, her beloved dogs, Charles and Charlie.
A small family graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 3pm at Sawnee
View Memorial Gardens in Cumming. Drs. Bryant and LySandra Bell will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: The Place, 2550 The
Place Circle, Cumming, GA 30040 or at www.theplacega.org
