Suzyn Elizabeth Howell Weiss, affectionately known as “Mah” or "Nana" by her grandchildren, peacefully passed away on November 6, 2025.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, on March 31, 1959, to William F. Howell and Betty Westmorland Howell, Suzyn was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William F. Howell and Betty Westmorland Howell, and her daughter, Jessica Parker.

Suzyn is survived by her children: Brittany Weiss, Meredith J. Harwood and her husband, Brian Harwood, Samantha Weiss Grace and her husband, Joshua Grace, and William "Boo" Weiss. She is also remembered by her grandchildren: Jasmyn Khan, Victoria Gambrell, Ethan Harwood, Elizabeth Harwood, and Thomas David O'Donnell.

She raised her children with unwavering love and devotion in Maumee, Ohio, alongside her loving husband, Mitchell S. Weiss.

Suzyn earned her Bachelor's degree in Music and Arts from Lander University in 1980. As a highly regarded music teacher, she was known for her warm and compassionate approach. Her positive outlook on life made a significant impact on her young students, motivating them to overcome challenges while exploring their creative interests. Through her music lessons, she played a vital role in the Maumee community, earning the admiration and respect of both students and parents alike. Her contributions helped foster a love for music and creativity in the local area.

Following the tragic death of her daughter, Jessica, in 2006, Suzyn was determined to help those struggling with mental health issues and raise awareness about the importance of seeking help. She put her music career on hold to earn her Master's degree in Psychology in the spring of 2010. Suzyn dedicated herself to helping others overcome the stigma surrounding mental health issues and always prioritized the needs of others before her own.

Services will be held at Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
