Dr. Swapan Chaudhuri, 78, of Iselin, New Jersey, left us for his eternal journey at 4:45 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025.
He was born in Kolkata, India and came to the US to pursue higher education at the University of Pennsylvania. An accomplished engineer, Swapan had an illustrious career as an structural engineer both in the US and in India. He is survived by wife Shikha Chaudhuri, daughters Debjani and Sharmistha, sons-in-law Saikat and Himanshu, grandsons Rishi, Arjun, Vikram and granddaughter Anushka.
Family will receive friends for the Funeral Puja on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 11:30 am - 1:15 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Cremation immediately following at Rosedale Crematory, Montclair/Orange, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Swapan's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org, or Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter 23, Vreeland Road Suite 105, Florham Park, NJ 07932 https://www.alz.org/nj
