Syble Burt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Laird Funeral Home on Jul. 29, 2024.
Funeral service for Syble Yeager Burt, 100, of Nacogdoches will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Laird Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am.
Mrs. Burt was born on April 13, 1924 and passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
During her 100 years on earth, Syble has seen more changes than most do in their lifetime but this also meant her life was filled with more joys and memories. She loved Jesus and was a present and dedicated member of University Baptist Church for as long as her health allowed her to, where she was well known as the sweet lady whose devotion was immeasurable.
Syble and her husband spent their working years as inspectors for Burgess Poultry Plant and after 17 years of service, she retired in 1984.
Her love of family stretched through not only her children and grandchildren, but her nieces and nephews as well. She enjoyed every minute spent with them and genuinely adored each of them.
When the time was afforded to her, she could be found fishing on Sam Rayburn or working diligently in her yard, which afforded her the title of "Yard of the Year" several years in a row.
Syble is survived by her son, James Truitt; grandchildren, Richard Clevenger & wife, Shelley and Kathleen Davis; 6 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Jerry Clevenger; sister-in-law, Grace Burt and brother-in-law, Billy Burt & wife, Sammie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Burt; daughter, Tona Clevenger; brother, Clayton Yeager and sister-in-law, Helen Yeager.
Serving as Pallbearers are: Richard Clevenger, Ryan Clevenger, Bobby Watts, Mark Burt, Ethan Hairgrove and Roger Burt.
