Sydney Ann Brenner passed on November 28, 2025, at the age of 87 from causes incident to age.
Sydney was born at home, March 3, 1938 in Paradise, Utah to Berenice and Garland Geary.
She was the oldest of 6 children. At the age of 8 the family moved to Mesa, Arizona where she spent the rest of her childhood, graduating from Mesa High School.
On April 16, 1956, Sydney married Robert Brenner in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Bob preceded her in death. They began their family in San Manuel, where Joy was born. Kathy, Bob and Tim were born in Mesa.
In 1965 they moved to Delta, Colorado, where Tami and Tom were born. They lived in Cory for 9 years and then re-located to Orem, Utah, in 1974, where Bob began working at BYU. Returning to Arizona in 2003 to retire.
Sydney raised their family and later went to work with Community Education classes, then Revere Health in the medical billing department until retirement. She always enjoyed music, playing the organ and singing in local women's and church choirs. She attempted to teach her children how to play the piano, some were more receptive than others.
She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, tole painting, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and has been spending the last several years making cross-stitch pillowcases and baby blankets for her grandchildren.
She was always active in the LDS church serving in many capacities, ward organist being her favorite.
Sydney is survived by her five children, Joy (Chris), Kathy (Karl, dec.), Bob (Mary), Tami, Tom (Kelly). 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Siblings Rosemary (David), Jeanine (Lynn), Robert, Patricia and Dale (Chloe).
She was preceded in death by her son Timothy, husband Robert and her parents Berenice and Garland Geary.
Graveside services will be held in Mesa, Arizona, January 2, 1:00 pm, at the Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 North Center, St, Mesa, AZ.
