Sylvan Lutey Obituary
March 26, 1949 - January 19, 2026
Born in Butte, Mont., Sylvan Lee Lutey, 76, was a son of the late Emily (Wickham) and Sylvan M. Lutey. A graduate of Montana Tech, he was employed in the gypsum and cement industries traveling the world troubleshooting and offering expertise in his field. He was a Kentucky Colonel, Montana Tech Copper Guard, and member of the Lions Club. He loved hunting, fishing, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and attending his daughters' sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kimberly (Wicks) Lutey; daughters: Shauna Lutey, Brandi Tew (Chad); siblings: Joanne Johnson, Bonnie Cyr (Wayne), Randy Lutey; granddaughters: Lucy and Lily Dalseg; nieces and nephews.

It's been many years since I last visited with Sylvan, I would guess late 1960s we used to visit the Lutey family regularly at Waterloo, it saddens me that our family is slowly bowing out! Rest Easy Cousin Sylvan!

To the Lutey family. I am so sorry to hear about Sylvan, he was a good friend all the way from Waterloo School through Montana Tech. The Lutey family were all great people.
