Mr. Sylvester Aron was born August 18, 1937 in Dublin, Mississippi to the union of Roosevelt Aron and Ida (Holmes) Aron. He was the youngest of six children who all preceded him in death: Lenny Aron, Irene Davis Aron, Modena Thomas-Aron, Iretta Jones Dudley, Roosevelt "Bubba" Aron (Dorothy).

He received his formal education through the Dublin School System up to 7th grade. Sylvester had to sacrifice school, and worked to help take care of the household after his father was severely injured in an accident. Despite his level of education, His tenacity to learn afforded him many new skills such as minor car repairs.

He relocated to St. Louis and worked for Mark Twain as a busboy. While there, he met Mattie Dudley and the two, eventually, united in marriage in 1959. Sylvester took on the role as father to her three sons (Oliver, Jerome, Floyd) and together they had two more sons and a daughter (Stanley, Dwight, and Jeannette).

"Stump", as he was known at his long-time employer, The St. Louis Post Dispatch, devoted over 30 years of service in maintenance. He also worked as a part time valet driver at Nantucket Cove. While working, he joined the Freemasonry where he actively served as a member.

After many years of his wife's prayers, Sylvester became a member of the Zion Travelers MBC under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Linden Bowie. He was ordained as a deacon in December 1998. A few years after, he was appointed to be in charge of the kitchen for multiple years. He became famous for his deep fried cornbread and fried chicken "tips." Deacon Aron served until his health hindered his efforts.

Sylvester had a unique personality that will forever be etched in our hearts. His colloquialisms were sure to capture one's attention, leaving them with a smile and maybe even the question, "Wait, what did he just say?" He loved to talk and would say anything to strike up conversation. It was a must for him to have his daily dose of Westerns like Gunsmoke, The Virginian, Cheyenne, and others. Cardinals were his absolute favorite baseball team and he'd coach from the best seat on sidelines, his recliner. He knew

On Father's Day, June 15, 2025 at 7:37am, Sylvester transitioned into sweet rest, peacefully at home.

He leaves behind to cherish his unforgettable spirit: 6 children: Oliver Lee Buggs (Brenda), Jerome Buggs (Annette), Floyd Buggs (Betty), Stanley Aron, Dwight Aron (Angie), and Jeannette Aron; grandchildren: Brandon Buggs, Oliver Buggs III, Marnean Buggs, Christel Buggs, Shante Buggs, Jerome Darnell Buggs (LaTonya), Floyd Buggs Jr., Denean Buggs, Dwight Sean Aron Jr., Imani Aron, Shannon Robins, Samira Jones (Ryan); a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends.
