Stephen Arnold Aron

Stephen A. Aron, 89, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025.Stephen was born to Sally (née Wolfman) and Herbert Aron on October 16, 1935. He was raised in Meriden, CT, and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. While there, he was a proud member of Phi Sigma Delta fraternity. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for two years before beginning a long career with the U.S. Government at the Veteran's Administration in Washington, DC, where he worked until his retirement in 1990.

Stephen was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Janet, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage until her passing in 2017. Together, they built a loving family and a lifetime of memories in Bowie, MD. They moved to Pocomoke, MD in retirement and enjoyed creating more memories. Steve enjoyed bowling, golf, tennis, and especially fishing, a passion he shared with his sons-in-law, grandchildren, and many friends. He was happiest when heading out on his boat, eager to cast a line. His love of fishing will live on through his grandchildren and sons-in-law.

Steve was predeceased by his wife, Janet, and by his parents. He is survived by his daughters: Sally (Joseph) Asero of Arnold, MD; Mary Ellen "Duffy" Mavilia of Wilmington, NC; and Barbara (Brett) Carner of Punta Gorda, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael (fiancée Amber) and Thomas (Judy) Asero; Ryan, Maria, and Rachel Mavilia; and Connor and Collin (fiancée Olivia) Baker; as well as his great-grandchild, Holly.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tidal Health Cardiac Rehab in Salisbury, MD.

A luncheon will be held at Mallard Landing, with a private service to follow at a later date.
