ENOSBURGH - Sylvia M. Brouillette, age 99, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born January 26, 1926 in Berkshire to the late George & Mary (King) Britch.
Sylvia spent her incredible life in and around the Enosburg Falls area, where she became a cherished member of the community. She was a woman ahead of her time, embodying a spirit of determination and resilience. She devoted herself to raising her seven children with love, patience, and the unwavering belief that hard work and family values are foundational to a fulfilling life. She shared her passion for cooking, canning, and leading 4-H, ensuring that her children and others in the community were nurtured and inspired.
A skilled entrepreneur, Sylvia owned and operated Cake and Candy World for several years, bringing joy and sweetness to countless lives through her delicious creations. Beyond her own business, she contributed her talents while working at the UVM Extension Service, IBM, and St. Albans Office of Economic Opportunity, leaving an indelible mark in each role she undertook.
She is survived by her children, Allen Brouillette and his wife Darcy, Darlene Bishop and her husband Alan, David Brouillette, Martha Gilman, Laurie Brouillette, Edward Brouillette and his wife Patricia, and Michael Brouillette and his wife Tonya; grandchildren, Anna Brouillette, Grace Brouillette, Liza Harrness and her husband Tom, Angie Legault, April Ahmed and her husband Rahel, Dusty Gilman and his wife Amy, Renee Simkins and her husband Everett, Emily Patterson and her husband Dave, Mark Stenta and his wife Samantha, Melina Stenta, and Brandon Stenta and his wife Aubrie; great grandchildren, Anthony Harrness, Ryan Harrness and his wife Hannah, Ethan Legault, Everett Gilman, Uthman Ahmed, Umaymah Ahmed, Miley Patterson, Xander Stenta, Aryanna Reese, Brody Stenta, and Quinn Stenta; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Brouillette; their newborn daughter, Edith Brouillette; and her siblings, Carlton Britch and his wife Annabelle, June Rushford and her husband Herbert, and Robert Britch.
Friends & family are invited to Sylvia's life celebration to include visitation on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 4-7:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 963 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Missisquoi Street, Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.
