Sylvia Ann Brown, born to Clara M. Threet (Raynor) and Bruce T. Threet on July 4, 1946, in Honey Grove, Texas, has passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 79. She was a cherished member of her community, known for her warm and welcoming nature that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Sylvia graduated from Turlock High School, where she and her family were well-known members of the community. The Threet family, originally from Honey Grove, Texas and Red Oak Latimer, Oklahoma, had become a cherished part of Turlock, contributing to the town's vibrant life and community spirit. The Threet family's legacy in Turlock was marked by their generosity and involvement in local activities, making them a beloved fixture in the town.

In her remarkable career as a mechanic, Sylvia dedicated 41 years to a field where she broke barriers with grace and inspired others with her dedication and expertise. Her work was more than just a job; it was a passion that she pursued with unwavering commitment until her retirement.

Sylvia's life was beautifully enriched by her family, and friends including her devoted loving husband and best friend of 32 years, Charles D. Brown. Together, helping raise two children, her son Johnathan D. Stearley, who married Rhea Spanglo. Daughter Carolyn M. Schmidt, who married Doug Schmidt, also helping raise Perry Amos and Dewayne Threet which filled her life with immense joy. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Sandra E. Rogers who had married Kevin J. Rogers, Rhianna N. Puga who married Jesse Puga , Tiffani A. Schmidt, and Nicolas D. Schmidt, Avey and her great-grandchildren: Christian, D.J., Emma, Caleb,
Adilyn, Archer, Nevaeh, Dominick, Julianna, and Emiliano. Sylvia's family was the very heart of her world, and her love for them was evident in every aspect of her life.

Affectionately known as "Nana" by friends, family, while also always having an open door to all who needed, Sylvia left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity made her a treasured friend and confidante to many, creating bonds that will be remembered fondly.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her mother, father, ten beloved brothers and sisters, and her only son always stating she was, "The last of the Mohegan's" when it came to her siblings. The memories of those who have passed before her remain lovingly cherished in the hearts of her surviving family and friends.

Sylvia will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her dedication to her work, and the deep love she held for her family and friends. Her legacy is one of love, strength, and the kind of warmth that touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.

A funeral service for Sylvia will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00AM at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock. Interment will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
