Sylvia Gayle Dobson Coursey, age 78, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away on January 12, 2025. She was born on August 21, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Hoyt Raymond Dobson Sr. and Jo Frances Hamby Dobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Carl Robert Coursey, and her son, Chad Crowe.
Gayle had a loving heart! Everyone knew her as GaGa. She loved helping people and put everyone before herself, she often said that is what made her happy and brought her joy. When her family said they loved her, she always responded with "I love you more". She was the best mother, wife, GaGa, and friend anyone could ask for. She truly loved unconditionally. Gayle enjoyed time spent with family, trips to the mountains, watching the ocean while walking on the sand, and shopping.
She will be missed, and her love will carry on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her children, Taylor, Shannon, and Joel; siblings, Shelly Barron; grandchildren, Ashley, Blake, Cierra, Lee; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Gayles life will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, beginning 11:00 AM in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.cannonclevelandfunerals.com.
