Sylvia Kaye Durham, age 77, of McEwen, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in McEwen, TN, on July 25, 1946, to Truman Dewitt Ross and Virginia Margaret Davis Ross.
Sylvia loved quilting, traveling, singing, reading and enjoyed riding her bike. She dearly cherished her family and friends. She was a life-long member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years; Jerry Durham, McEwen, TN; 3 children; Kurt Durham (Laura), White Bluff, TN; Kristy Rion (Tony), Dickson, TN; and Kelly Morris (Stephen), Huron, TN; 6 Grandchildren; Emily Murphy (Johnathan), Matthew Durham (Rachel Tidwell), Wesley Durham, Clay Rion, Cory Rion, and Ashley Breeden; 2 Great Grandchildren; Judah Murphy and Shiloh Murphy, Sister; June Hicks (John) Waverly, TN; 2 Sister-in-laws; Linda Ross, McEwen, and Elaine Ross, McEwen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; T.D. & Virginia Ross, and 2 brothers; Kenny and Herschel Ross.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 6 PM – 8 PM, and on Sunday, October 29, from 12 PM until the time of service at 3 PM, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Interment will be at Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the Gideon Bible program.
