HEATH SPRINGS, SC ~ Mrs. Sylvia Jane Sims Fields, age 82, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at MUSC Lancaster surrounded by family. She was born July 25, 1942, in Lancaster, SC, daughter of the late Roy Sims and Annie Hinson Sims and was the wife of the late Clifford Fields. Mrs. Fields enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, watching her great nephew play travel ball, and spending time with family, especially with her great-great nieces and nephews. She was the youngest of 13 children and she and her sister Joyce Payne were best friends, and they spent lots of time together traveling. Her cat, Sophie, was also her best friend. Mrs. Fields loved being a member of Fork Hill Baptist Church where she was Sunday School teacher for the adult women class.
Mrs. Fields is survived by her brother, Albertus Sims (Ruth); caregiver and niece Michelle Eddins and her husband, Darrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Fields will be 2:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2025, at Fork Hill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Adam Furr, Rev. Dale Walters, and Rev. Chris Snead. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fork Hill Baptist Church, 1125 Fork Hill Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms Sylvias passing. She was such a sweet lady to know and care for. She will truly be missed. God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
