Sylvia Mae Holmes, 96, of Bridgman passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Stevensville.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 Church Street, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Sylvia was born on May 10, 1927 in Hammond, IN the daughter of the late John and Wilhemina (Stahley) Peglow. While raising her family, Sylvia was a homemaker involved in her children’s activities, school, and church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a woman of strong opinions, she had a keen wit, and an incredibly sharp mind. Sylvia was always giving and thoughtful to her family and friends. She was a woman that had a strong faith and tremendous love of the Lord.
Sylvia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children: Jeff (Diana) Holmes, Cindy Haughey, Sheila Holmes, Karen (Mike) Maddox; grandchildren: Michael (Debbie) Maddox, Rosalyn (Will) Leingang, David (Aubrey) Maddox, Evan Haughey, Matthew (Michelle) Haughey, Dashun Carter, Nicholas (Nichole) Holmes, Cameron Murrow and thirteen great grandchildren.
Sylvia was also preceded in death by siblings: Edgar Peglow and Ada Hessler.
