Sylvia Judith Hughes, 70, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center.

She was born July 16, 1950 the daughter of James Hays and Florence Elizabeth Madill Swan in Magna, Utah.

Sylvia married Rickey Dalhart Hughes on December 19, 1970 in Morrison, Colorado.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband Rickey, Layton, UT; two daughters, Doddy Hutzenbiler, Derby, KS; Heather (Jeff) Carter, Plain City, UT; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Diannia Hansen, West Jordan, UT; and Sharon Christensen, West Jordan, UT.

Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Clark Madill, James Ray Swan and Thomas Swan.

Services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Greenleaf Ward, 2166 W. Gordon Ave, Layton, Utah.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Sorry to hear about the loss of Sylvia. She was a great lady and made me laugh and smile several times in the years that I knew her. I know that her and my parents have rekindled their friendship. She was a great lady.
