Lindenberg, Sylvia

Her Legacy Sylvia Sandra Lindenberg, 87, passed away August 30, 2024. She was born on February 17, 1937, in Niagra Falls, New York to Alonzo Hickok and Marjorie (Marsh) Hickok. Sylvia married the love of her life, Gerald Lindenberg, on August 3, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan and shared 61 wonderful years with him as a reluctant cook, eating out daily during their retirement. She will be remembered as a sweet, kind and unconditionally loyal family member and friend. Sylvia was a very involved mother, spending time with her girls as their Girl Scout leader. Later she joined TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) where she became the treasurer and made it to the highest goal of KOPS. She made friends wherever she went, as her love for people and serving others were evident throughout her life. Sylvia choose to be happy and aspired to bring joy to all those she met. She loved to garden, watch and feed the birds and appreciated the beauty of nature around her. Crafting was a gift in her life as she liked to crochet, do needlework and cross stitching. Sylvia was the epitome of what it was to be a good, loving, nurturing person. All who knew and loved Sylvia will dearly miss her.
Her Family Sylvia will be missed by her Husband, Gerald Lindenberg; her children, Sandra (Jerry) Horan, Sheila (Joe) Swyrtek; grandchildren, Raina, Brianna, Joshua, and Jett; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Marjorie Hickok; brother, Richard Hickok; Aunt, Florence Hickok; close cousin, Flo Vetro; grandmother, Flossie Hickok.
Her Farewell Sylvia's family and friends will gather Saturday, September 7, 2024 for her memorial service at 11:00 AM (10:00AM Gathering) at Grace Lutheran Church in Howell, Michigan. Pastor Ken Greble will serve as Celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to National Audubon Society. In honor of Sylvia, please wear purple or blue, as those were her favorite colors.
