Sylvia Phillips

Sylvia Phillips, Beloved of God, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Chattanooga, on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016. Sylvia was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Shull; her father, Charles Gooden; her grandmother, Elizabeth Wilkes; her aunt and uncle, Irene and George Koch; her sisters-in-law, Avene Frist and Juanita Rothberger; and her brother-in-law, Dillard Phillips. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Joe Phillips; her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dan Oglesby; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Brent and Kelly Phillips; her granddaughters, Mollie Mitchell, Madelyn Phillips, and Gabrielle Phillips; her great-grandson, Liam Oglesby; her sister-in-law, BJ Tyrell; and her brother-in-law, Harley Phillips. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Thursday, in the Funeral Home Chapel. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
