Sylvia Ann Rhodes, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away on October 12, 2025, at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 7, 1945, in Hillsboro, Texas, Ann led a life rich in love, service, and devotion to her family and community.
For over 40 years, Ann dedicated herself to being a waitress, a profession that perfectly complemented her warm and giving nature. After graduating from high school, she even attended cosmetology school, but it was waitressing where she truly found her passion. Ann had a remarkable ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger and loving all those who crossed her path. Her genuine warmth radiated through her heart and soul, making each person feel valued and cherished. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church in Glen Rose for many years and cherished the friendships she made with her fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Ann celebrated the union with the love of her life, Frank Rhodes, on June 14, 1985. Together, they nurtured and created a large family, with Ann proudly reminding everyone that she was not only a mother to three beautiful children but also a step-mother to four more. This blessed her with a vibrant family of seven children, a role she cherished deeply, as her proudest accomplishments were being a mother and later, a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her legacy carries on through her children: Kelly Law and Keith Law, along with her step-children, Michele Toman, Tonya Fonseca, Rachel Hayden, and Eric Rhodes. Ann's spirit lives on through her grandchildren, including Chris Law and his wife Latosha; Summer Smith and her husband John; Elisha Harcrow and her husband Jessie; Angela Rostamo and her husband Tim; Melissa Law; Lauren Bullivant and her husband Christopher; and their many beloved great-grandchildren.
Ann was known for her selflessness and kindness, always there for anyone who needed her, whether that meant volunteering at the local thrift store, cooking meals, canning, or quilting. Her voice, both powerful and soothing, is a memory that lingers in the hearts of those who knew her. As those close to her reminisce about her, they are reminded of the profound impact she made on so many lives.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Frank Rhodes; her brother, Ronnie Huse; her son, Kyle Law; and her parents, Gus and Jimmie Huse. Though they may no longer be with her, their memories remain etched in the hearts of her family.
A visitation in honor of Ann will take place on October 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, TX. A graveside service will follow on October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Fulton Cemetery in Walnut Springs, TX.
In celebrating Sylvia Ann Rhodes, we remember a woman whose love knew no bounds and whose generous heart touched the lives of many. Her indomitable spirit and unwavering faith in God guide her family and friends as they carry her memory forward, forever in their hearts.
