Sylvia Delores Rucker

Sylvia Delores Rucker was born to the late Sylvester Rucker and Earnestine Barnes Rucker on October 30, 1960. Sylvia graduated from Stroman High School in 1979. She attended college at Texas of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas. Sylvia accepted Christ at a young age and became a long time member of St. Peter's Baptist Church. Sylvia's passions included writing, reading books, doing puzzles, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Sylvia loved to spend time helping out at the foodbank when she could and going to church every Sunday. Although she never had kids of her own, she cherished her nieces and her nephew as if they were her own. She gained her Heavenly Wings on September 20, 2025. She leaves to cherish her memory with her brothers, Ernest Rucker, Keith (Carolyn) Rucker; sister, Gwendolyn Clark; niece Frantell Barefield, niece Kelishia (Donovan) Davis; nephew Jeremy Rucker; niece Brandi (Wilbert) Brinkley; great-niece Eden Davis and one great-niece on the way, and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnestine Barnes Rucker and Sylvester Rucker and grandparents, aunts and uncles. Services will be Wednesday, October 1, 2025 with visitation from 9:30AM to 11:00AM with a Funeral Service at 11:00AM at St. Peter's Baptist Church in Victoria, Texas. A repass meal will follow.
