It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Sylvia A. Veronie, announces her passing on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 82.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice with Father Sam Fontana officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Sylvia was born in Lake Arthur on June 5, 1941, to parents Beulah and Murphy Armentor. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More and a devout Catholic. She had a deep love for Our Father, Blessed Mary and her family. She cherished the time they would spend together. But most of all she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two children, daughter, Julie Joy Veronie Askew and husband Greg of Colmesneil, TX and son, Kirk Veronie, Sr. and wife Carla of Conroe, TX; brother, Larry Armentor, and sister Bernadette Ortego; grandchildren, Ricky Jacob Seasock, Kirk William Veronie, II, Allison Rae DaCosta, Kyle Wilson Veronie, Alex Andrea Potts; one great grandchild, Reagan Renee Veronie as well as extended family and friends.
Mrs. Veronie was preceded in death by her dear husband, Charles D. Veronie; daughter, Nina Gayle Veronie; grandson, Blake Arron Potts; parents, Beulah and Murphy Armentor; and brothers, Ralph and Jimmy Armentor.
