Sylvia Weiler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ritchay Funeral Home - Wisconsin Rapids on Mar. 30, 2026.
Sylvia G. Weiler, 91, of Rudolph, passed away on March 25, 2026 at her home. She was born June 21, 1934 in Stratford, Wisconsin to Alfred and Olga (Solinsky) Kramer. She was raised on the family farm just outside Stratford and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. Sylvia graduated from Stratford High School in 1952. On October 20, 1952, she married Kenneth H. Weiler of Auburndale. He passed away on June 10, 1991.

Sylvia was a very active member of St. Philip's Catholic Church in Rudolph. Her organizational skills were put to good use as co-chair for the St. Philip's Church Picnic and the pancake breakfasts. She also volunteered at the Rudolph Grotto for many years and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Serra Club, Catholic Daughters of American, court president of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Wood County Homemakers.

Sylvia had many interests and hobbies. She loved sports and faithfully followed the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers and locally, the Assumption Royals. She was a skilled seamstress, knitted and crocheted. She liked to bake and brought rolls to every family party. She enjoyed going to concerts and plays, especially musicals. If you went by her house, you couldn't help noticing all the flowers and huge garden.

She enjoyed traveling and had seen much of the world. Her travels took her to a variety of venues, the Wisconsin Badgers' Rose Bowl victory in Pasadena in 1994, the Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl win in New Orleans in 1996, on tour to Europe with the Wisconsin Extension Homemakers Chorus, to Broadway in New York with her mother and sister, Oktoberfest in Germany, and a special trip to the Panama Canal with the sheepshead card club when they celebrated 50 years of playing cards together. She and Kenny did a lot of camping throughout the U.S.

Sylvia is survived by her three children: Dr. Mary (Gary) Ladick, Richard (Joanne) Weiler, and Ronald (Susan) Weiler. She was thrilled to be a Grandma to Dr. Mary (Nathan) LaCasse, Dr. Emily (Peter) Dahdah, John (Kelley) Ladick, Laura (Gary) Sharp, Abigail, Ben (Yer), and Ellen (James Zander) Weiler, and Dr. Michael (Brenna Knaebe-Weiler) and Ryan (Erin) Weiler. She then was blessed to be Great-Grandma to Amelia, Stella, Camille, and Richard LaCasse, Peter J., Philip, John and Andrew Dahdah, Olivia and Jackson Ladick, Luke and Ike Wells, Katherine Sharp, and Sia and Rio Weiler. She is further survived by her sister Lillian Heinze, and three brothers, Ralph (Genevieve), Ernest (Ethel), and Charles (Sue) Kramer and sister-in-law, Rita Weiler, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, her parents, in-laws James and Janet Weiler, Thomas and Rosaline Weiler, Eugene Weiler, William Drexler, and Floyd Heinze.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on April 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Rudolph with Fr. Barry Saylor officiating. Visitation will be at church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Philip's Catholic Church or Assumption Catholic Schools in Sylvia's name.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Carol Kowieski, Kathy Hamus, David Dorshorst and Margean Anderson for everything they did for Syliva.
