Timothy Patrick Cherry (Pat), 69, died peacefully on October 27, 2025. A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, VA, he was preceded in death by his parents Robert Glinn and Sallie Whitehead Cherry, and his brother Robert (Bobby) Glinn Cherry, Jr.
All who knew Pat were truly blessed with his friendship. His charismatic presence lit up every room he entered. He was known for his love of boats and devotion to his family. Pat's spirit will live on in the love he left with us and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan Cherry; three children, Travis Cherry, Katherine Kessinger (Bill), and Ward Cherry (Mikaela); and three grandchildren Owen, Emma, and Everett. He is also survived by his sister Mary Thibodeaux (Jerry), and his brother Christopher Cherry (Betsy), and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads, 2060 Upton Drive, Virginia Beach, VA, 23454, or to The Lewy Body Foundation at www.lbda.org/donate.
A private graveside service will be held.

Dear Cherry Family,

I am truly devastated for you all. I am in Utah with my 95 year old mother so I won´t see you on Friday but please know you are All in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this life changing process. Tim and I have been missing your husband and dad for the last couple of years with his decline and our boat sinking. The marina will never be the same. It hasn´t been the same since Brian Wilson passed! I hope Pat and Brian are looking down on us saying "Whew, what a ride!"

I will never forget wanting to get mad at Pat for calling me "Little-Miss-Mid-west Cornfield" because of some opinion I´d voiced. I burst out laughing! Only he could come up with a title like that. He will truly be missed there is no doubt!

Please know how much we care ~

With Love,
Terrie Seitz
