In November 1972 T J was united in holy matrimony to Ruby Jean Porter and to this union came three children: Patricia, Cynthia, and Trayce.
T J gave his life to Christ and united with The Worship Zone under the leadership of Dr. Roosevelt Barrett
T J helped to care for his mother until her death. He went to every doctor's appointment, and every hospital admission, assisted in getting her in and out of bed and made sure he was there for whatever she needed. Not only did he care for his mother, but was there to assist, provide and care for any family member that needed him.

T J wore many hats in the Marshall Family. He was a comedian, cook, caregiver, yard manicurist, and babysitter for his grands, great-grands, nieces, and nephews.
T J was a man of many sayings that people loved to hear him say such as: "Let's go to Bay Spring", "Must I Clown", and "If I do a piano will hop out play who would have thought", just to name a few.
T J was preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents: Parker and Mattie Bennett-Marshall; Maternal grandparents: Ben and Sallie White-Amos; Parents: Jessie and Mattie Mae Marshall. He was also preceded in death by his oldest sibling, Cleotha Marshall and bonus son, Casey Marshall
