Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother; T. Susanne “Sue” McCallum, 88, of Dartmouth, formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Born on September 28, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Sue was the daughter of Robert Owler Sr. and Margaret (Murphy).
A proud graduate of Fitchburg High School, Sue enjoyed years of involvement as a Waltham Jaycette and later became active with the WSB Club 50 and the Ladies of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 14 in Watertown. She gave her time through hours of community service, always eager to lend a hand wherever it was needed.
Sue met the love of her life, Stuart “Stu” McCallum, while they were both working at LaTouraine Coffee in Boston. Their extraordinary love story blossomed into sixty-six beautiful years of marriage, a milestone they celebrated this past January. Together, they built a life rooted in laughter and shared adventure.
Susanne found joy in the simple pleasures of life — gardening in the summer, skiing in the winter, and always making a warm, welcoming home for those she loved. She dedicated herself fully to her home and family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Sheila McGillicuddy (Joe McCloud) of Berkley, and Shaun McCallum (Maureen) of Waltham and her grandchildren Kerin McGillicuddy (Ross Bilodeau), Colleen McGillicuddy, David McCallum, and James McCallum.
Susanne was predeceased by her son Scott and a brother, Robert Owler Jr. who she will surely join in eternal rest.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sue’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, October 17th from 4 to 7 p.m, and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, October 18th before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham,
