Ward, Talon Thomas Tercel, 24, died unexpectedly Wed.,Oct. 24. Missed deeply, we are comforted he is with the Lord. Survivors are parents, Edward E. and Eva Ward; siblings, Falcon, Merlin, Destiny, and Mariah; nephew, Chance Allen, and, most importantly, the love of his life, Valerie Stevens of Long Beach. We thank all who helped with Talon's memorial and reception on Monday, October 29, 2007, at Evangelical Formosan Church of Orange County, 10750 Lampson Ave., Garden Grove, CA. It was a great blessing to see and talk with everyone. An audio recording of the service will be added to this site as soon as that feature is available

Talon is still missed after 19 long years. October 24th is my worst day of the year. A parent who has lost a child is a griever, a title no one wants. Thank God for the years we had with Talon. Wish he was still around to share his good humor, love, and joy.

Yesterday was 14 years without you on this earth. I find myself wondering sometimes... what if... what if that terrible day never happened? How would our life together have looked? I hope you're proud of how my life has turned out, so far. In the hard times I can still hear your voice ring through my head... "it's all gonna be okay." With that one sentence you always melted my worries away. You will always hold a piece of my heart. I love and miss you.

I remember when we first met at Lake Cachuma for Sophomore year summer with EFCOC and you claimed to know every song on earth. To prove you did, you told me to name a song and you would sing it to me. Being the biggest Céline Dion fan, I named my favorite song from her 'Falling Into You' album. Boy, were you stumped. We got a good chuckle out of it though.
I will always remember your humor and sweet kindness. I'm grateful for the wonderful memories we have shared and will keep them close to my heart.

Talon loved to climb the pepper tree in front of our house on Blackthorn Street and scare the pants off trick-or-treaters. They've been safe for eleven years but they probably still talk about him. We miss him and always will.

11 years ago today we lost a great, wonderful friend, son, brother, lover, and man. I am now married with kids, but a part of me will always hold him near and dear.
At the last Renaissance Faire Talon worked, I purchased him a hand bound, leather book, that had parchment in it. Later, I bought him a calligraphy set to use with the book for his writings. He used to love to write. Unfortunately, he never got the opportunity to use either of these gifts. I've held on to them over the years, but this year, I gave them to my daughter Abbygail. She's very artistic and has been wanting to do calligraphy. It's nice seeing them get used rather than sitting in a box in the closet.
I can only imagine the smile on his face seeing something that has been so precious to me being brought back to life through it being used.

Yesterday, you would have 35. I maybe married with kids now, but I still miss you everyday. The calligraphy set and book I bought you, you never had the opportunity to use. Well, I gave it to my 12 year old, Abbygail. She loves it and has such an interest for it. When I told her that it was yours, it made her feel special. All my girls know about you and love to hear stories about you. They wish they could meet you. I tell them they will, but not anytime soon. I love and miss you everyday.

Talon was one of the greatest guys I knew. He always had a smile, and could only be serious for, maybe, 30 seconds at a time. Always cracking a joke, poking fun at the little things... I'll miss you!

I offer my sincerest condolences to your family, some of whom I met previously, some I met only recently. They have lost a wonderful brother, son, uncle, companion and friend. We all have.
