Tamara Garber
May 14, 1946 – October 2, 2024
Tami Garber, resident of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away after a three year battle with cancer on October 2, 2024, at the age of 78.
Born on May 14, 1946, Tami dedicated her life to serving others and cherished spending time with her loved ones. She was a devoted volunteer at Defiance Hospital and the Food Bank, generously giving her time and compassion to those in need. Tami was also a faithful member of St. Marks Church, finding solace and community in her faith.
Tami's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her three children, Jonathan Martin, Erin (Ryan) Schanuel of Boynton Beach and Eric Martin (Donna Handy and children Collin, Jessie and Davin) of Delray Beach. She was a proud grandmother to Nolan Schanuel and Brianna Schanuel of Boynton Beach, who she adored spending time with. She also leaves behind a brother Dr. Coit Black Jr. of Defiance, OH and a sister Sheila (Dave) Robinson of Boulder, CO. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jon Garber, a sister Susie Bacon, a brother John Black and both parents.
Tami had a passion for the ocean and loved collecting shells and snorkeling at the beach. She also found great joy in watching her grandchildren play baseball and softball, cheering them on with enthusiasm.
Tami will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her kind heart, generous spirit, sense of humor and unwavering love will forever be remembered.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers let Tami's legacy of compassion and generosity live on in the good deeds you do. Donations can be made in Tami's honor to the American Cancer Society or to https://www.seaturtleadventures.com/about-us. This non-profit works to preserve marine life at Briney Breeze beach where Tami lived and loved to walk, snorkel and collect shells.
