The Life Story of...
Tameeka LaSean Forbes-Marcelin
Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant. You Have Been Faithful over a Little;
I Will Set You Over Much. Enter the Joy of the Master. ~Matthew 25:21

Tameeka LeSean Forbes-Marcelin, the second child of Leonard Forbes and Jo Frances Chester Forbes, began her first chapter of life on February 21, 1981, in Rahway, New Jersey. Soon after her birth, the family relocated to the Miccosukee community of Tallahassee, Florida, the family's official residence.

Tameeka demonstrated an aptness in learning incredibly early and reading became one of her favorite leisure experiences. Educated in the Leon County Public School District, she was a 1999 graduate of Lincoln high School. She advanced her educational experience at Florida State University where she earned her bachelor's degree in communications. She later received her master's degree in human resources from Post University.

Tameeka attended the Miccosukee Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP) with her family from an early age. It was during her early teen years that she made the decision to profess her faith in being a follower of Jesus, to become a faithful member of the church family, and to begin her work for the Lord. She rendered service on the Junior Usher Board and sang in the Youth Choir. Because she was an accomplished dancer and choreographer, she was a pioneer in establishing the COGOP Dance Ministry. Her excellent, spirit-filled performances became a model for inspiring others to embrace liturgical dance as an acceptable means to praise and worship God.

God gave Tameeka the strength, the determination, the skills, the resources, and the energy to do everything He purposed her to do, and she did so in a more excellent way. Her willingness and compassion compelled her to volunteer her time and talents with Javacya Arts Conservatory, Kids Incorporated, and Mothers in Crisis in the Tallahassee area. In Jacksonville, Florida, she volunteered with Empowerment Resources, Incorporated to help young men and women acquire the necessary skills needed to ensure their success in life. As a United Stated Army spouse, she was the Family Readiness group leader/ coordinator who helped other wives navigate through the bureaucracy to acquire their needed services. Because she had a close relationship with her family, she was instrumental in organizing and facilitating many activities for the Forbes and Walker Family Reunions.

Tameeka and Smith Marcelin were united in Holy Matrimony to on March 15, 2013. They were blessed to have Chloe Annalyse Marcelin, the light of their life.

As one chapter comes to an end, a new and more promising one begins. Tameeka LaSean Forbes Marcelin's physical weakness created her spiritual strength because she believed in the promise Jesus made on the cross - by faith, she will be with Him in Paradise. Therefore, she obediently yielded when He whispered her name on Sunday, August 10, 2025. In the blink of an eye, Almighty God dispatched an angel from Heaven to bring His precious jewel to live with Him throughout eternity. The battle was fought and the victory won!

It is hard to turn the page when you know someone will not be in the next chapter, but the story must go on. Tameeka LaSean Forbes Marcelin's legacy of faith, family, fellowship, fun, and faithfulness, will continue through her family, friends, coworkers, and the countless lives she impacted during her life. Loved ones who will cherish her precious memory and miss her until they meet again are her husband, Smith Marcelin; adorable daughter, Chloe; parents, Leonard and Frances Forbes; brother: Andre'(Lililita) Forbes; parents-in-love, Anselme and Alerte Louis Jeune Marcelin; sisters-in-love, Ermithe Marcelin and Judith Marcelin; grandmother, Lallye Wilson Forbes; niece, Nalina Forbes; nephew, Bellamy Forbes, along with many other sorrowing relatives, comforting church family, and loving friends.

Preceding Tameeka LaSean Forbes Marcelin in death were he grandparents: Leonard Forbes, Jr., Joe H. Chester, Annie Mae Laborn, and brother-in-love: Adner Marcelin.

A chapter ended, a page turned; a life well-lived, a rest well earned. Farewell good and faithful servant.
