Tammy Allyce Hauser (née Burton), 62, of Cedar Hill, died July 8th, 2024, at Mercy South Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 13th, 1961, to Richard and Peggy Burton of Byrnes Mill, Tammy lived a life filled with laughter, love, and dedication. She was a devoted wife, treasured mother and grandmother, beloved daughter and cherished sister.
Tammy was married to her husband, Ron Hauser, for 40 wonderful years. Their enduring love and commitment to each other was apparent to all who knew them. They stood together in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. Together, they built a beautiful life with their two children and welcomed nine grandchildren. They experienced great happiness, endured tremendous loss, and created countless cherished memories.
Tammy graduated Northwest High School in 1979. She was employed at the Chrysler Corporation as well as Northwest High School before ultimately retiring to babysit her grandchildren. Tammy was happiest riding with her husband, chatting with her family or piddling around the yard followed by a little dog. She loved antiques, crime shows, and joked she had sequins in her soul. Tammy never met a stranger; her warmth and kindness endeared her to most who crossed her path and she was perfectly okay not being everyone's cup of tea. She wanted for very little while being willing to give so much. Despite loving her life, she always hoped her sacrifices would allow her children to have an even better one and whole heartedly celebrated their every success. Tammy was loving, welcoming, dedicated, profane, compassionate, snarky, empathetic, tenacious, funny and fiercely protective. Her smile and laughter lit up a room. Her vibrant personality and spirited nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Tammy will forever be remembered by her loving family and friends. Her loss is so profound it will be felt deeply for decades to come; yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly through her children and her grandchildren. We will hear her voice in our heads and feel her strength in hearts.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Ron Hauser; her children, Laura (Arik) Brooks (née Hanson) and Dean (Brianna) Hauser; her 8 grandchildren: Lindsey, Ashley, Tyler, Delilah, Karmen, Finn, Cassidee and Ada; her mother, Peggy Burton; her sister, Andie (Christie) Burton; her mother in law, Kathy Wilken; many brothers and sisters-in-law, a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and countless friends. And of course Spanky, her not so little, little dog.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Burton (2020), and her granddaughter Eva Brooks (2012).
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. on July 19th at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill, with burial immediately following at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of live flowers, if possible, the family requests artificial arrangements or bouquets that can be used to brighten such a sad spot over the coming months. The family has a tradition, spanning five generations, of decorating the graves of their loved ones who have passed on.
