With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tammy Jean Lopes, a beacon of light and laughter who left us far too soon on February 11, 2026. Born on May 22, 1964, in Kansas City, MO, Tammy was a cherished daughter to Lois Diaz and David Horne. Her vibrant spirit and boundless love touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Tammy's life was a tapestry of colorful experiences, woven together with threads of love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She married Javier Ceja on October 2, 1982, in the picturesque town of Salem, Oregon, where they began a journey of love and family. Though they parted ways in 2002, their union was blessed with a beautiful family that became Tammy's greatest joy and proudest achievement.

A devoted mother, Tammy is survived by her adoring mother, Lois, her five beloved children, her ex-husband Javier, and a legacy of love that includes 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Her family also extends to her cherished siblings, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law, all of whom will deeply miss her vibrant presence and unconditional love.

Professionally, Tammy dedicated herself as a caretaker and home manager, roles that perfectly encapsulated her nurturing spirit and her innate ability to make everyone feel at home. Her career was more than just a job; it was a calling that allowed her to share her boundless compassion and care with others, leaving a lasting impact on all those she served.

Tammy was a woman of many passions. Her love for the Kansas City Chiefs was legendary, a testament to her loyalty and spirited nature. She adored the sparkle of bright colors, reflecting her vivacious personality, and found joy in the simple pleasures of picnics at the park and being in nature. Her heart was forever drawn to the beach, with a particular fondness for the serene beauty of Hawaii's shores, where she felt most at peace. Whether camping under the stars or trying her luck at the casino, Tammy embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired everyone around her.

Her sense of humor was unparalleled, a gift that could lift spirits and brighten even the darkest days. Tammy's laughter was a melody that resonated with all who knew her, a reminder that joy can be found in the simplest of moments.

Above all, Tammy cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Her family was her world, and her love for them knew no bounds. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

A service to celebrate Tammy's extraordinary life will be held on February 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Restlawn Funeral Home, located at 201 Oak Grove Rd NW, Salem, Oregon 97304. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Tammy are invited to join in honoring her remarkable journey.

Tammy Jean Lopes will be remembered as a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a cherished friend, and a woman whose spirit was as bright and unyielding as the colors she adored. Her warmth, humor, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Tammy, knowing you are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
