Obituary of Tammy Lynn Merrihew
Tammy Lynn Merrihew, age 53, unexpectedly passed from her battle with cancer on August 4, 2023 at Lexington Medical Hospital surrounded by family and love. Tammy was born August 5, 1969 in Mountain View, California to Jim and the Kim (Houx) Flowers.
Tammy was a loving wife, mother, Grammy and friend. She was a fierce advocate for those that she loved.
For 20 years, she enjoyed working in the automotive field at Nissan both in California and South Carolina.
Tammy found her calling as an EMT in the year, 2006 and worked at Regional Ambulance until 2021.
She was a caregiver for her in-laws, Lew Parker and Marianne Parker and her mother, Kim Rocque.
Tammy was creative and gifted at any craft that she chose to attempt. She made beautiful soft blankets and seasonal wreaths. One of her joys in life was building Lego's with her family and by herself. She relished in being the Grammy and loved the time that she spent with her grandbabies.
Tammy met her husband James (JP) Merrihew in Sunnyvale, CA in 1990 that started a lifelong love. They married in Las Vegas, NV on March 29, 1992 and were married for 31 years.
JP brought into this union a daughter, Christina Ashley. From the age of 3 Tammy treated her as her own. In 1992, they were blessed with Christopher James and in 1995 Michael Andrew completed their family.
She is survived by the love of her life, JP Merrihew; daughter, Christina (Brandon) Marquis; sons, Christopher Merrihew and Michael Merrihew; grandchildren, Bryson Philip and Karlie Anne Marquis; and her father-in-law, Lew Parker. Also, she is survived by her brother, Jimmy Flowers II, and father, Jim Flowers.
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Kim Rocque; step-father, Dale Rocque; mother-in-law, Marianne Parker.
