Kernersville – Mrs. Tammy Marie Shumate, 59, passed away peacefully July 13, 2024, at Kernersville Medical Center. She was born March 7, 1965, in Forsyth County to Frank Shumate and Virginia St. John Shumate. Tammy loved to travel, garden and take care of their Shih Tzu, Ramsey. Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Shumate.
Tammy is survived by her spouse, Annette Parrish; father, Frank Shumate; loving son, Andrew Rock (Jessica); and granddaughter, Maylee Rock.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm – 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to express a very special Thank You to the nursing staff at Kernersville Medical Center Critical Care Unit.
