Tammy Lynn Stanford, age 60, of Cataula, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Tammy was born on November 9, 1964 in Columbus, Georgia to Roger Dale Elliott and Joyce Faye Elliott.
Tammy was fiercely selfless and impossibly strong, giving her heart, time, and energy to everything she did. She worked at Park Elementary as a paraprofessional for more than 20 years and adored her students and Park family. Tammy loved being a mother and she was incredibly proud of her two sons, who were her world. She was overjoyed to become a Grammy to Avery Lorelei and Lynnlea Grace, and they were her Sunshine. Tammy excelled as a Grammy, not just to her granddaughters but to countless others throughout the years. Tammy was a survivor. In early 2023, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and, less than a year later, she had successfully beat cancer. During numerous treatments and surgeries, she never let her situation affect others around her, always looking forward. No matter how exhausted she was, she would always extend her hand or offer an ear to whoever needed it. She had a passion for others and animals, saving innumerable cats through the Harris County Humane Society's TNR program. She loved to travel, particularly to the beach or to visit family and friends. Tammy made sure those around her knew how much they were loved.
Tammy is preceded in death by her father, Roger Elliott. She is survived by her husband Jack Stanford, Jr.; two sons, Chris Stanford (Sam) and Steven Stanford (Ashlea); two grandchildren, Avery Stanford and Lynnlea Stanford; mother, Joyce Elliott; three sisters, Wanda Bates (Wayne), Shelley Slaughter (Eddie), and Tammy Cantrell; nieces, Candi Hall (Matt), Melissa Fowler (Bryce); nephews, Alan Slaughter, Hunter Hall and Bentley Fowler; and countless other extended family and friends.
A visitation for Family and Friends for Tammy will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home - Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Harris County Humane Society.

Tammy was a precious soul. When dropping off my grandson, she always had a big smile and sweet things to say to him. As well she always said, don´t worry we will take good care of him. She was one in a million that makes your heart feel at peace. She has touched so many and leaves a huge whole. Joyce, my heart breaks for you. I hope you know we will be lifting you and your family up in our prayers. Gods blessings to you all

To Ms. Joyce and girls, you are in my heart and prayers. The world has lost such a beautiful soul. You all know how special you are to me. So special I dubbed myself a "bonus sister". However, that proclamation only came out of the delight in watching the incredible love, strength, and the unbreakable bond of your beautiful family. Tammy will always be with you all because she always was. I adore each and every one of you. I´m out of town but my heart is with you all in spirit. God Bless and I love you all!
