Tammy Taylor, 66, of Defiance, passed away at her home with her family and friends by her side on June 8, 2025.
Tammy was born on June 4, 1959. She was originally from Ironton, Ohio and later as a young child, her family moved to Defiance, Ohio. At the age of 18, she married her soul mate, Dallas Taylor, who ended up being the love of her life. They were married for 47 years and together for 48 years.
Tammy was a member of Bridging the Gap Ministries in Stryker, Ohio. She was loved by all and a mother to many. Tammy loved to spend time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who knew her.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Dallas Taylor of Defiance; two children, Gayle Taylor and Toni (Jacob) Smallwood of Defiance; her loving dog, Baxter; and 2 children who were self-adopted, Sara Hall and Troy Stewart of Alabama. She is also survived by her sisters, oldest Pamela Hahn of South Carolina and Kristi (Brian) Eitniear of Defiance, brother, William "Bill" (Alicia) Richardson; several nieces and nephews with one double nephew, Shannon Taylor of Defiance; 5 grandchildren, Miranda (Ken) Dominique, Haleigh (Nathan) Kline, Anthony, Kolby, and Tyson; 2 self-adopted great-grandchildren, Christopher Hedrick (Codi Brooks) and Nevaeh Hedrick; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Pugh and Joanne Richardson.
Visitation will be held on June 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton St.) in Defiance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, with Ryan Carter officiating. Tammy will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
