Tammy Wasman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 12, 2025.
Tammy A. Wasman passed away peacefully on Dec 11, 2025 after a long, courageous battle with dementia and Parkinson's.

Tammy was the daughter of the late Stephen and Thamasine (Vivian) Kutch, Honesdale, PA. She is survived by her spouse of 39 years, Karl Wasman, Honesdale, PA. Tammy was a devoted mother and grandmother to Stacey Diehl, Honesdale, her children: Molly, Kinley, and Nolan, as well as Brianne Buckland and her husband, Dave, and daughter Madelyn, of Denver, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Derrick, and her husband, Edward.

Tammy was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her dedication to her family was unmatched. Her daughters, and especially her grandchildren, were her pride and joy. She took great care in decorating for all of the holidays; her heart was most full when her family was there to enjoy it all. Tammy was an excellent gardener and enjoyed tending to her many flower beds, a gift passed down from her father, which she shared with her daughters. She had many creative gifts, like painting and crafting. Some of the most beloved family heirlooms were hand-painted by Tammy. She also enjoyed shopping trips with family and friends and antiquing. Tammy took great joy in being able to pass down a few baking tricks to her grandchildren, too.

She was a hard-working and dedicated employee, prior to her illness at the Wayne Highlands School District, a job she took great pride in performing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Vivian Kutch, and her nephew, Kyle Derrick.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dessin Animal Shelter, as Tammy loved animals.

Tammy will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion towards everyone she met, as well as her heartwarming smile.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at 6 pm. The family will receive friends, 4 until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
