Tammy J. Wicks, age 50, a longtime resident of Wilmington IL, formerly of Plainfield IL, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at her home. She was born March 26, 1971, in Joliet IL.
Tammy was the beloved partner of the late Claud "Corkey" Cummings, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2020. She was the mother of Bobbi (Claudio) Herrera and Ashlee McGinnis, a stepmother figure to Kevin (Mary) Cummings and Eric (Theresa) Cummings, loving grandmother of Katelyn, Isabelle, Dakota, and Breanna, devoted daughter of JoAnn and the late Thomas K. Wicks (like a stepdaughter to Michael Donnell), dear little sister of Lori (Kevin) Darnell, Thomas Wicks, and John (Dana) Wicks, godmother of Stephanie Lynn Darnell, adored niece of Barb (George) Richner, as well as a cousin, aunt, and friend to many others.
Tammy was employed as a waitress at IHOP in Joliet IL for over twenty years. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her plain spoken "tell it like it is" persona. She was an outgoing and caring person who would being willing to help anyone as much as she could. Tammy was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 13, 2021, 2:00-6:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield.
A celebration of Tammy's life will be held on Monday, June 14, 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Bill Beagle officiating.
Interment: Plainfield Township Cemetery, Plainfield.
