Tanner Chase Hart

Tanner Chase Hart, age 10, of Honaker, Virginia went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 22, 2015 in Abingdon, Virginia, he was a son of Kelsey Price and her husband, Travis and Zachary Hart and his wife, Kayla. A lifelong resident of the area, he was currently a 4th grade student at Honaker Elementary School and attended Word of Victory Church. He was an honorary Sergeant with Copper Creek Fire Department and he loved sports, especially baseball and football, participating in both. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family and playing with his siblings. He had a smile that would light up any room and his love for Jesus was always shining bright.

Tanner was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lisha Hart and maternal great-grandmother, Olivia Lowe.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his seven siblings, Emilia Hart, Olivia "Guppy" Price, Blakeleigh Price, Ryder Stevens, Sawyer Stevens, Jacob "Jakey" Price, and Caitlyn Ball and fiancé, Zachary Anders; one nephew, Cohen Ball and one expected nephew; maternal grandparents, Eddie Lowe and Rachel, and Jackie Lowe; paternal grandfather, Mike Hart; step-grandparents, Earl and Amy Musick, and Billy and Joyce Price; maternal great-grandfather, Earl Lowe; special grandparents, Mike and Stephanie Kennedy; special great-grandparents, Larry and Doris Miller; special nurses, Logan McGhee, Jess Whited, and Judy Meadows; several aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, many friends, and a heartbroken community also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Hwang, Dr. Ladre, the nurses and staff of Children's National Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Legacy Hospice, and the Honaker and Russell County communities for the love and support that has been shown to Tanner and his family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Mike Kennedy and Revs. Rod and Sharon Wicker officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Derek Hart, Channing Hart, Austin Clayburne, Zachary Anders, Chris Dye, Justin Lowe, Eddie Lowe, Jayce Lowe, and Matthew Testerman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Stout, Allen Miller, Randy Hart, and all the first responders from the area.

The family will receive friends after 5 PM Friday at Honaker Funeral Home.
