Tanya Renee Thrall, 51, of Ripon, California, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2025 after a brief illness.
Tanya was born in Hayward, California and grew up in Union City, where she graduated from James Logan High School in 1992. She attended Chabot Community College and California State University, Hayward. In her early 20s, Tanya started her career at Albertson's Stores in Fremont, California, and throughout her time with the company worked at various locations throughout Alameda County as a member of UFCW Local 870. In order to be closer to her parents, she moved to the Central Valley in 2008, transferring from Alameda County to San Joaquin County, where she continued to work as a retail clerk for SaveMart Stores in Ripon, California.
In her youth, Tanya participated in equestrian activities, including parades, trail riding, team penning, and Gymkhana. She competed in regional and state Gymkhana events, winning championships at both levels. After graduating from high school, Tanya participated in Judo at Chabot Community College, competing all around the San Francisco Bay Area and winning tournaments at the state level.
Since moving to Ripon, Tanya liked connecting with many members of the local community, who she met in her capacity as a checker at the SaveMart in the Ripon Shopping Center located on Goodwin Drive. Even when she was out and about around town, Tanya enjoyed exchanging pleasantries with her favorite customers.
Tanya is survived by her parents, Catherine Thrall and Frank Thrall, Sr., her brother Frank Thrall, Jr., her sister-in-law, her three nephews, her aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
