We celebrate the life of Tawana Johnson, a beloved soul whose life was a beautiful testament to kindness, service, and joy.
Tawana Geraldine Johnson was born on November 16, 1938, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Robert and Lena (Self) Little. Tawana passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Clovis, New Mexico; she was 86 years old. Tawana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Johnson, her son Andy Johnson and great granddaughter Vera. She is survived by her daughters Shelley and Tracy, son Jason, her 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Tawana touched countless hearts with her unwavering dedication to serving others. Her sweet spirit, warm presence, and quick wit made her a delight to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her thoughtful conversations and sparkling sense of humor could lift a room, and her laughter and smile left a lasting imprint on everyone she met.
Tawana's legacy is one of love, service, and joy-a life well-lived and generously shared. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and the many lives she brightened along her journey.
Funeral Services will be held at Maltbie Funeral Services Chapel, 265 W. 8th Avenue, Springfield, Colorado on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Campo Cemetery, Campo, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Campo Community Center, Attn: Sherry Ownbey, P.O. Box 59, Campo, Colorado 81029; or to God's Learning Channel in Midland, Texas. Please indicate "In memory of Tawana Johnson" on any contribution.
