It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our daughter Tawnya R. Robinson
Tawnya Robinson was born in Pittsburgh, Pa, on August 28,1972 and went to be with The Lord on May 10, 2025, in Ashland, Ky. at the age of 52. At UK King's Daughters Hospital, Ashland, KY, she was surrounded by her parents, Bob and Ellen Compton and close friends Krissie, Halee, Anthony, Melody, Jill, and Hunter as she departed this life to be with God in heaven. Paul (Tawnya's brother) was able to phone in from Atlanta to tell Tawnya one last time he loved her!
A fighter by nature, she was loved by all. A pet lover who most recently rescued Olive the most adorable Wheaton Terrier you have ever seen.
Growing up she was active in school as a cheerleader, on the flag team, and most important to her was spending time with her friends. After college she went on to get her degree in Occupational Therapy. She always wanted to follow in her Nunu's footsteps and participate in the medical field helping others.
She had many favorite things but to mention a few she loved interior decorating and spending hours in Hobby Lobby. She also loved wrapping packages and having contests with her mother on who could wrap the best.
A BIG advocate for Ovarian Cancer Research. She reached out and educated woman all over the United States on the importance of asking your doctor for a CA125 blood test. This test if done early enough can be used as an Ovarian Cancer marker and save your life. Most woman are unaware they have Ovarian Cancer until it is too late.
Our love and prayers go to everyone and thank you so much for your support. Tawnya was an inspiration to many!
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30PM Friday, May 16th, 2025, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road with entombment to follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30AM-12:30PM. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition,https://p2p.onecause.com/nocc/donate
