Ted Glover
Services for Ted Alan Glover, 79, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Covenant Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ada, with burial following at Memorial Park. Matt Cooley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Ted Glover passed away peacefully at his home place in Knox on May 9, 2025 where he had lived all 79 years of his life. He was born on June 21, 1945, to Theo and Vertie Lee Glover (née Muse). He was a lifelong farmer and rancher, and co-owner of Glover's Feed with his brother, Garvin "Moose" Glover.
In his younger years, Ted could often be found at the rodeo arena, drawn to the grit and excitement of the sport. Though time eventually pulled him away from his bareback riggin and bull rope, his love for rodeo never left him. The stories he shared about those days brought laughter and admiration from all who listened.
Ted never met a stranger. He had a natural gift for conversation and a genuine love for visiting with friends, meeting new people, and seeing new places. Whether it was a handshake at the senior citizen dance, a rodeo, or a long conversation after getting loaded out on the hill, he had a gift for making people feel welcome and included. He brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
He especially loved spending time with his beloved girlfriend, Maxine Freymiller. Together, they enjoyed dancing, taking trips to the mountains, and hunting for treasures at garage sales for many years; traveling far and wide along the way.
For 36 summers, Ted made his way to Ganado, Texas, to haul grain for his dear friends, the Andels and the Machas. It was a tradition he treasured, not only for the work but also for the friendship it represented.
Above all, Ted loved his family and the home place that had shaped generations. His legacy is one of hard work, honesty, steady kindness, and a life lived fully and sincerely.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Kristy Glover of Ada; his son, Ted Glover Jr. and wife Dawanna of Stuart; daughter, Karla Tamez and husband John of Ada; and son, Tod Glover of Ada. He is also survived by five beloved grandchildren; they brought him immense pride: Karli K. Glover, Trace Lawson, Ty Lawson, Shylo Glover, and Katie Craft.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theo Glover and Vertie Glover (née Muse); his brother, Garvin Glover; and nephew, Garlan Gale Glover. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers: Ted Glover Jr., Shylo Glover, Ty Lawson, Trace Lawson, John Tamez, Charles Ingram.
Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Casady, Phil Shivers, Steve Floyd, Durrell Wimberly, Jethro Bundy, Tony Tamez, Chad Lamb, Seth Freymiller, Kenneth Miller, Clint Leathers, Gary Hill, Buck Hill, Dustin Hill, Brock Hill, and Eddy Starks.
