Ted Nelson McGill Obituary
He was a native of Bellevue in Campbell County and a descendant of several pioneer families. Beginning in 1979 he taught Theology at Bishop David High School, which merged and became a part of Holy Cross High School in 1984.
In 2006 he retired from teaching at Our Lady of Providence High School, Clarksville, Indiana. After teaching, Ted continued to work at Providence for six years as a cashier in the cafeteria. Ted was an Oblate of St. Benedict of St. Meinrad Archabbey. He was a Scottish Armiger, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (Scotland), a Kentucky Colonel, and the published author of two books. For many years he enjoyed trips to the Isle of Iona, and his genealogy, especially family tree DNA.
There are no immediate survivors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021, at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 2119 Payne Street with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
In lieu of flowers, Ted has asked that you do an act of kindness for someone in need.
