Ted Ed Pruitt, born on October 16, 1946, in a world that would one day come to be enriched by his wisdom and warmth, passed away on October 19, 2024. Ted lived a life dedicated to service, both in the military and his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and artistry.

After serving an impressive thirty years in the U.S. Navy, where he rose to the rank of Commander, Ted transitioned into civilian life, bringing with him an unwavering work ethic and a wealth of knowledge. His career post-military saw him take on leadership roles as Vice President at Systems Planning & Analysis and later at Enterprise Information Services, Inc., where he supported Naval customers with diligence and integrity.

A man of great intellect, Ted graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, followed by a Master's in Nuclear Engineering from the Monterey Post Graduate School. These achievements were indicative of his sharp mind and his desire to better understand the world around him.

Above all, Ted was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Frances Pruitt; his five cherished children, Angela Pruitt-Brandon, Ivey Brisar, Katherine Pruitt, Daniel Pruitt, and Devony Pruitt; as well as his four beloved grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Rachel Clodfelter, Cassidy Pruitt, and Andre Hannum. He took immense pride in supporting and nurturing his family, always ready with a kind word or a listening ear, embodying the values of hard work, kindness, and unwavering support.

Ted discovered a passion for art, becoming a painter and drawer who sold his first painting in 2012. This new chapter in his life allowed him to express himself creatively, enriching his world and those around him with color and imagination. He enjoyed traveling, acquiring art, and relishing every moment spent with friends and family, curating memories that would last a lifetime. Ted’s personality was defined by his intelligence, humor, and kindness. He was not just a father and grandfather; he was a mentor and a friend, eager to share his experience and wisdom with those he loved. His spirit of generosity and the joy he found in life will remain etched in the hearts of many.

As we remember Ted Ed Pruitt, let us celebrate a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and inspired endlessly. His legacy will resonate through the lives he touched, and he will be profoundly missed.
