Doris Jean Pruitt

Doris "Jean" Pruitt age 97 of Sweetwater TN passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 12:30am at Wood Village Senior Care. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles L Pruitt and daughter Katherine Elizabeth Pruitt. She was a long time member of Fairview Baptist Tabernacle in Sweetwater TN where she taught Sunday School until she turned 91. As the wife of a career servicemember she lived in multiple countries and all over the United States. She lived in Memphis TN before returning home to Sweetwater to care for her elderly mother, Cora DeButy. Jean is survived by daughters and son Judy Pruitt of Boston MA, Karen and Tom Albitz of Fort Worth TX, and Kelly and Leigh Pruitt of Canton GA, Sister in Law Alene Mitchell of Seymour TN and Cousin Darleen Shope of Loudon TN; grandchildren Mike and Audra Pruitt, Jameson and Kira Brown, Austin and Kathryn Pruitt, Cody and Olivia Pruitt, Kathryn Albitz, Jessica Albitz and Daniel Gardner. Great grandchildren, Celine Brown, Sadie Brown, Cameron Pruitt and Hudson Pruitt. Services will be held Friday Feb 20 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm with services following at the Kyker chapel, burial immediately following at West View Cemetery.
