Teddy Acton Obituary
Born June 4, 1942, in Evansville, IN, he was the son of the late Harlon Francis "Bob" Acton and Margaret Milspah Acton.
Teddy was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served his country for six years. He retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC where he was a detective. Teddy has been an active member of the Calabash Elks Lodge and American Legion for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Vickie Moore Acton of the home; a son Teddy Glenn Acton, Jr. (Nita); two daughters, Gena Welsh and Tricia Thigpen (Michael); grandchildren, Shaun Grunner (Shannon), Ashlea Grunner (Jordan), Jacob Acton (William), Leah Miller (Justin), Ashley Fullerton (Cody) and Brittany Thigpen; and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled later at the Calabash Elks Lodge.

Great to grow older but equally sad to continue to lose Friends and Brother Elks, but this is life. This is sadly true of the passing of Teddy Acton. But as we mourn for his loss let us also be thankful that he lived and that he was our Friend and Brother Elk We will write the memory of him on the tablets of love and virtue

Dear Acton Family, it is with great sadness that I am typing this message. Teddy made me feel so welcome when I first became a member of the Calabash Elks Lodge and so did Vicky. Teddy was extremely knowledgeable in Elkdom. He was my go-to person. I will miss him so much. We have lost a brother who embodied what a true and upright member should be. Vicki Schreiber
