Terence P. Smith, age 55, of Mokena and formerly of Midlothian passed away April 13, 2025.
Beloved husband of Stacey (nee Gudgeon) Smith; loving father of Paige Elizabeth (Claire) Nygaard, Jacob Matthew (Bridget) Smith, Blaise Matthew Smith, and Ty Patrick Smith; proud Papa of Logan and Brooklyn; cherished son of Margaret (nee Altman) and the late John Smith; loving and spirited brother of Tim (Karen) Smith, Megan Smith Roe, Eileen (Terry) Gavlin, and Brendan Smith; treasured bonus dad of Emily, Elizabeth, Melissa, and Michael Tarrant; uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Terry was a One Of A Kind soul, proud Grill Master, and lover of all music (except country). Being a proud Chicago Police Dad, he enjoyed providing food and laughs for the 8th District as well as collecting patches for his daughter. He was a passionate sports fan. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan who grew up in a White Sox home; avid Chicago Bears and Walter Payton Fan; loved watching and going to Illini Football games; and enjoyed playing golf. Terry was a hard worker having many jobs from caddying at Midlothian Country Club; grill master at Willie's Wee-Nee Wagon; and finally, being the visionary and Vice President of Sales at ESN (Electrical Solutions Network), a legacy that will continue through his lifelong friend Marty Bradley, his sons, and the entire ESN family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the DESSH Foundation or Operation Smile in Terry's memory are appreciated.
Visitation Monday April 21, 2025, from 3 - 8 PM at Hickey Memorial Chapel 4201 W. 147th St Midlothian, IL 60445. Funeral Tuesday April 22, 2025, 11:30 AM prayers at the funeral home going to St. Christopher Church - St. Augustine Parish for 12 PM Funeral Mass.
