Teresa Lavon Borders

Teresa Borders of Cleveland won her long battle with Alzheimer's when she entered Heaven's gates on November 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Tunnie and Joyce Atkinson.

She is survived by husband Jack; daughter Amanda Johnson and her husband Steven; two granddaughters, Kara Johnson and Emily Johnson; one brother Terry Atkinson (Annette); one sister Tina Benson (Marty) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teresa was born on November 22, 1961 and grew up in Selmer, Tennessee, then moving to Cleveland in 1989.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading and collecting books.

Teresa was loved by all who knew her. She was well known for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and compassionate heart with a special burden for victims of domestic violence.

The family will receive friends on November 23, 2024 from 12pm until 2pm at Candies Creek Church with Teresa's Homegoing Celebration of life and burial to follow.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Ascension Living, Legacy Village of Cleveland, Lifecare of Collegedale and Hearth Hospice.
