Teresa Lynn Brussell, passed away suddenly on March 15, 2023 in Greene, NY. She was born on November 8, 1965 in Lakeland, Florida to Larry West and Sheila Helton Brussell.
Teresa was a dedicated mother, daughter and friend to many. She loved traveling and visiting with her family. She also enjoyed working with children during the many years she worked as a Teacher’s Aid at Oxford Primary. Teresa had an infectious smile and adoring laugh and will be greatly missed.
Teresa was a lover of all animals and an advocate for animal rights. She actively volunteered at many animal rescue and rehabilitation organizations including, Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary and The Cat Connection. She had many pets over the years that she loved and adored, especially her dog Tara and most recently her 2 cats, Lady and Doral.
One of Teresa’s favorite pastimes was listening to music. She enjoyed going to concerts and listening to live music wherever it was available. She had a soulful appreciation for music and it gave her great joy.
Holidays were always a special time for Teresa. She loved decorating and celebrating with her family and friends. She was also a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races with her mom every Sunday.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry “Bubba” West, Jr., her grandparents Marvin and Louise Helton, Odin and Anna West and her step-father, John Brussell, Sr.
She is survived by her parents, her daughter, Christine Brussell (fiancé Brent), her brother John Brussell, Jr. (Christie), her sister, Ashley West Pierson (Mike), her nieces Jada, Chandler, Addison and Savannah and her nephew Connor.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc, Oxford, NY. A service celebrating Teresa’s life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00AM at the Central Baptist Church, 37 S. Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Donations in her memory can be made to an animal rescue and rehabilitation organization of your choice.
