Teresa Chavez, 62, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Littlefield, Texas. She was born on October 6, 1963, in Amherst, Texas to Santos Saenz and Simona Hernandez Saenz.

Teresa graduated from Littlefield High School in 1982. Education was important to Teresa. She attended South Plains College, Texas Tech University, and Lubbock Christian University. For over twenty years, Teresa worked as an administrative assistant in the nursing department for South Plains College. Throughout her career, she helped many LVN and RN students chase their dreams of becoming a nurse. Teresa was a loving and caring mother that would go to all lengths to make sure her family was taken care of. In addition to her warmth as a mother, she was a great listener. The compassion Teresa showed everyone she encountered could not be measured. When there was a problem to solve, she always found a resolution. Family was the heart of Teresa, and they always came first, especially her grandchildren. To her beloved grandchildren, she was their 'Grandma' or 'Grand on.' Teresa also enjoyed the companionship of her two great grand dogs, Pito and Tootsie. The love she had for her children and grandchildren was everlasting and will always be remembered.

Teresa was one of nine brothers and sisters. She learned to be so personable growing up in a busy household. Going to garage sales was something that Teresa really enjoyed. She loved finding a good deal. Knitting and crafting were also some other hobbies of Teresa's that gave her happiness and peace. She was quite an artist and had a passion for drawing. Encounters with Teresa were straightforward, but she had the best sense of humor. She was charismatic and funny. Her smile and laugh were contagious. Teresa was a woman of God and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield, Texas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Miguel Chavez of Littlefield, Texas; two sons, Miguel Chavez Jr. of Littlefield, Texas, and Julian Chavez of Levelland, Texas; one daughter, Crysti Carrera and spouse Jose of Fluvanna, Texas; ten grandchildren and one on the way, Jillian Lopez, Tessie Chavez, Amador Lopez, Lale Lopez, Natie Carrera, Bailey Chavez, Ma'Kayla Chavez, Lily Chavez, Julian Chavez, Mia Chavez, and Sophie Chavez; four sisters, Dora Carrillo of Littlefield, Texas, Janie Saenz of Littlefield, Texas, Sally Saenz of Littlefield, Texas, Hope Castillo Quintana of Littlefield, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Santos and Simona Saenz; three brothers, Santos Saenz, Raymon Castillo, Joe Saenz; two sisters, Esperanza Castillo and Louisa Saenz.

Funeral services for Teresa Chavez will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield, Texas with Father Jeff Church officiating. Rosary will be recited at 6:00p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Grace Chapel within the funeral home. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Miguel Chavez Jr., Julian Chavez, Jose Carrera, Amador Lopez, Josh Villarreal, and Adam Saenz. Honorary pallbearers are Jillian Lopez and Julian Chavez Jr.
